Protect Your Pet With Microchips
A microchip is a simple, safe, and effective way to permanently identify your pet and greatly increase the chances of being reunited if they ever become lost. At Topaz Veterinary Clinic, we offer AVID microchips, a trusted and reliable form of pet identification used by shelters, veterinary clinics, and animal control agencies nationwide.
The microchip itself is about the size of a grain of rice and is implanted just under your pet’s skin, typically between the shoulder blades. The procedure is quick, and well-tolerated by most pets.
Each AVID microchip contains a unique identification number that can be read with a handheld scanner. Once registered, your pet’s information is linked to a national database, making it easier for shelters and veterinary professionals to contact you if your pet is found.
Collars and tags can fall off—microchips are permanent. It’s a one-time procedure that provides lifelong peace of mind.
